Questions about carpentry

Do you also do large renovations?
No, I focus on smaller carpentry that ties in with my painting work. Think pergola construction, deck building, panelling and timber frames. For a complete extension I will refer you to a contractor.
How does a carpentry job work?
I work with quality timber suited to the application: treated wood for outdoors, fine timber for indoors. Every construction is built to measure. The advantage of a painter who also does carpentry: the custom woodwork gets finished straight away with the right paint or stain.
Can carpentry and painting be done at the same time?
Yes, that is the real advantage. I build the woodwork and paint it straight away. Saves you an extra tradesman and the result fits together perfectly.
What type of wood do you use?
Depends on the job. For outdoors, treated spruce or durable hardwood. For indoors, planed spruce or MDF. I advise which wood suits your project best.
Do you supply the timber yourself?
Yes, I source the timber myself. I choose quality wood suited to the application and include it in the quote. That way you don't have to worry about a thing.
What does a pergola cost?
That depends on the dimensions, type of wood and finish. A standard pergola starts at a few thousand euros. I always come for a look first and provide a custom quote.
How long does an average carpentry job take?
A simple deck or panelling job can be done in a few days. A pergola or larger project easily takes a week. I always give you a realistic timeline upfront.
